New Post!

God is so good! We just began going into the camps and doing ministry! It was so good to be back into it all! On Tuesday, we went into Msawawa and on Wednesday, we went into Diepsloot and did Jabulani Kids (VBS). It was so much fun!

On Tuesday when we first got to Msawawa and began walking around, I felt nervous, afraid and simply incapable of doing any type of ministry. We found a few people but no incredible conversations came about. While Jacob (the staff leader for my group) was sharing with a man, I took some time to pray for confidence. God did it! We then found groups of women and I began talking and sharing. It felt so good to be back into shack-to-shack ministry. Honestly, I felt like I was doing what I was born to do. Even though I’m not a super outgoing person or confident, I really do feel called to this! God is so good! He equips me when I fall short, way short. I met a woman named Nicole. She was 9 months pregnant. Any day that little baby will be here! After sharing with her, I was able to pray for her and the baby and it was just a great experience. I’m really hoping we’ll be able to go back and meet her brand new baby!

Wednesday, in Diepsloot, was a lot of fun! We danced with kids, taught them the gospel and then played with them some more! There were so many mama’s there too! That was really exciting! God is going to do some big things this summer in South Africa! I can’t wait for groups to get here and to make a great impact for the kingdom of God! PUMPED!

Since being here last summer, Diepsloot has grown, another squatter (Lion Camp) has greatly grown, and it seems like everywhere you turn there is so much more poverty, more pain, more sadness, more people who need Jesus. Pray for the Jo’berg area! Diepsloot has added a whole new zone since last summer and it continues to grow. The Lion Camp is across from the Lion Park where I was last summer for a fun day. Last summer, you couldn’t even see the shacks from the road, now they come right up to it and spread over a large piece of land. Pray for these people! Pray for God to break into their lives! God is so good and He has something huge planned for these communities this summer!

And here’s a quick update on other things. I am doing well, finally over my cold that I’ve been fighting, Praise Jesus! This Friday a group of about 80 people are coming in from the US and Canada and will be here for about 3 weeks. I’m so excited to work with them! We will be moving to a new living site and internet is very limited, so this will probably be the last post for a few weeks.  So there it is! God is so good and He’s up to more! He’s about to rock Jo’berg for His glory!
