Break me, move me!

So, maybe this is a tad overdue, but whatever. My sis and I are back from Africa! Boy, was it a good trip! It was so stinkin good to be back, it really was like going home again! I loved it, of course! This was a trip that clearly had God's hand it. We saw this from day 1! We were scheduled to leave about 1pm on Saturday, July 28. My parents drove us to the airport, we said our goodbyes and began our journey by going through security. We made it to our gate, sat down and waited. Soon, they were saying our flight to Chicago was going to be a bit delayed. Then it was delayed again, and again and then a few more times. We were going to fly to Chicago then to Atlanta and then to Johannesburg. Because we had a few connecting flights, we had to find another way to go. So, Bethany and I pretty much did laps in the airport, going from our gate to the help desk (I feel like we did this at 3 times). Finally we were talking to a woman trying to get us all set. At first it sounded like we would pretty much have to wait till the next day and try everything all over again. Then we would arrive in South Africa on Monday night, one day later than planned. This obviously wasn't the desired option, but if that was all we could do, then that's what would happen. So the lady continued to look and then she found another flight. She told us there was a flight leaving later that night to Paris and then we could fly from Paris right to Joburg. So we took it! But.....not only was it a flight, it included a 12ish hour layover in Paris, it was with a nicer airline (I was able to find fairly cheap flights on an ok airline), so we got that little bump up! So we finally arrived in Paris, cleared customs and then we sat...trying to decide.

We decided yes. After talking to several people, we bought a few train tickets and headed out into Paris! It was so exciting! Such a good little side trip!

We finally arrived in South Africa on Monday morning. My good friend Micah picked us up and few hours later we were in Diepsloot. We literally hit the ground running. Just being back in Diepsloot filled me with so much emotion! I was excited (I WAS IN AFRICA!!!!), I was heart broken all over again, I was tired, I wanted to just go hug every woman and love on every child. It was so good! The next day we hit up the market and then later went on a safari. So, last summer I met this guy, Edmund, at the market. I shared the Gospel with him and prayed with him every time I saw him. I ended up giving him a Gospel of John and he gave me two little stone hippos. Well, I met up with him again! It was really cool to see him! So then we went on to do ministry. It was so good! I didn't get to talk to a ton of people, but the few I did wrecked me! Every child that I played with, every woman who told her story, and pretty much every woman or child I saw, I felt confirmation from the Lord! It was like He was right there saying things like "This! This is what I want you to do with your live! Love on these kids! Show these little girls that they are worth something! Treat these women like you would your own sister or close friends. Encourage them, pray for them, make sure they know that they have a worth far above rubies!"

Jesus is so good! Even though it was a short trip, I am so thankful for the chance to go back! It was amazing! Now, I get to focus on the next step! More on that later.
